Peanut Chutney / Verusenaga Chutney / Palli Chutney

Peanut Chutney is one of the favorite Chutney's which goes very well with Dosa's Idli's Upma's and more. Checkout this recipe which is slightly different from the normal chutney's.

Ingredients:

1 cup Peanuts/Pallilu
4-5 small Tamarind flakes(soaked)
1 small Onion
1/4 cup Coriander leaves
5 Green Chillies
Salt to taste

Directions:

1. Heat a wide pan with a tsp of oil. Add the peanuts and fry them until it gives an aroma.
2. Remove them and collect in a Mixi jar.
3. Add a tbsp oil again to the heating pan, add onions, coriander leaves and chillies. Fry them well and add them to the jar.
4. Add salt and tamarind to the jar and make a paste of it.
5. Remove the chutney into a bowl. Heat some oil in the same pan again, add jeera/cumin seeds, avalu/mustard seeds, minappappu/ black gram, curry leaves and hing. Fry them until they splutter and then add this(talimpu) to the chutney. Serve it with hot Idli's/Dosa's/Upma as you like.
